More space between.

Mohalu helps you cut back, and eventually quit, whatever’s bothering you. Log how often you do it, and Mohalu spaces it out a little at a time, until the gaps are so wide the habit just fades. Small, easy steps. You choose how fast you go.

Phase 3 · weekday pace

The flow

A week of watching, or just tell us.

Measure a week and we'll read your real pattern. Or be honest about how much and when, and we'll build a plan from that. Either way the gaps widen from where you actually are, as fast or as slow as you like. No feeds, no streaks to lose, no scoreboard against yourself.

Mohalu observation week, day 4 of 7, logging without a plan

Observe

A quiet first week

Log each one as it happens and Mohalu learns your real pattern: how often, when, and your natural gaps. No plan yet, nothing counted against you.

Mohalu phase review, phase 1 complete, 100% on pace

Review

A week at a time

Every phase ends with the plain numbers: how close you ran to the plan, and what the next gap would be. Advance, repeat the week, or step back. It's your call each time.

Mohalu timer counting down to the next one

Wait

The dial does the pacing

One timer, counting down to your next one. It freezes through closed windows and sleep, and resumes fairly. It never starts you over.

Mohalu timer open, ready to log

Open

The timer opens, your call

Have one, skip it, or log one you already had. Going early costs nothing either: the plan bends, it never punishes.

Mohalu progress, the whole plan and what it saved

Keep

The gap, widening

Your real intervals against the plan, phase by phase, and what the habit didn't cost you. Every figure comes from your own logs, and they never leave the phone.

Screens shown are captured from the app itself. Flip the face above and they change with it. Flip the face above and they change with it.

Features

Built to be gentle, engineered to be exact.

Open windows

Draw your day: mornings open, work closed, sleep asleep. The timer freezes through closed hours and resumes fairly on the other side.

Two-track pacing

Weekdays and weekends get their own intervals, because Tuesday and Saturday are different lives.

No punishment, ever

Go early and nothing is taken from you: no lost streak, no reset, no red. The plan simply continues.

Cut back, then quit

Keep widening the gaps until the habit fades on its own, or pace toward a floor you choose instead of zero. Your target, your speed.

Skip & keep

Every skipped hit adds to the brass number, the running total of money still in your pocket.

Sleeps through anything

Timers survive restarts, timezone changes, and daylight-saving weirdness. The math is done once, correctly, in one place.

Sleeping

A day in windows. Closed hours never count against you.

Faces

Two faces. One engine.

Every color, tick, and word comes through the face, this page included. Tap one and watch everything change, screens and all.

One rule never changes: the timer's color belongs only to the timer, and brass belongs only to money.

Money

The brass number.

Every hit you space out is money that stayed in your pocket. Mohalu keeps that running count in brass, the one color reserved for it.

$0.00

Still yours, three phases in. It only ever counts up.

Privacy policy

We don't want your data.

Effective August 8, 2026 · applies to the Mohalu iPhone app and mohalu.app

What you do with a cigarette or a glass is nobody's business: not your employer's, not an advertiser's, and not ours. So Mohalu was built with no way to collect it.

What we collect

Nothing. Mohalu has no accounts, no sign-in, and no server. We never see your name, your habits, your logs, or anything else. There is no "we" on the other end of the app.

Why it works this way

Pacing a habit like smoking or drinking is personal, and for many people it's the kind of thing they'd rather keep entirely to themselves. Data like this can be misread or held against people. We didn't solve that with a policy promise. We solved it with architecture: we wrote no networking code. No servers of ours, no third-party services, nothing that reports back. The one optional network path in the app is Apple's iCloud sync, described below, and it belongs to you, not us.

Where your data lives

Every hit you log, every plan, every phase, and the brass total live in the app's local database on your iPhone, protected by your device's own security. Delete the app and that local data is gone.

iCloud sync is optional and off by default. If you turn it on, your data syncs through your own Apple account into your private iCloud database: Apple's infrastructure, your account, your encryption keys. We have no server in that path and no ability to read what's there; it exists so your history can follow you to a new phone, and you can switch it off (and remove the iCloud copy from your device's iCloud settings) whenever you like.

The one door out

Beyond optional iCloud sync to your own account, the only way data ever leaves your phone is when you tap Export and choose where the file goes through the iOS share sheet. That file is yours; who sees it is your decision alone.

Notifications

Reminders that a timer has opened are scheduled locally by iOS on your device. No notification service of ours is involved, because we don't have one.

Third parties

None. No analytics, no ads, no crash reporters, no SDKs. Apple may provide us aggregate, anonymized App Store statistics (like download counts) under its own privacy terms. That's Apple's standard reporting and contains nothing from inside the app.

This website

mohalu.app is a static page: no cookies, no analytics, no tracking, and the fonts are served from this domain. Our host (Cloudflare) handles requests the way any web server must in order to deliver a page; we run nothing that watches you here.

Changes & contact

If this policy ever changes, the new version appears here with a new effective date, and the no-collection architecture is the part we consider permanent. Questions: hello@mohalu.app.
